Our Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of The Clean Life based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in--and flows out of--these biblical teachings.

God

Jesus Christ & Salvation

At the core of everything, we believe that God is love. He exists eternally with a character that is perfectly selfless and centered on others. He abundantly gives while existing in plurality as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and is therefore the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
As the creator of all that exists, His touch is revealed in humankind, nature, and the Scriptures. Our glimpses of Him are sometimes mysterious, yet they are always compelling and beautiful as He seeks to reveal who He is. He is all-knowing, all-forgiving, and always seeking to restore and draw us to Him.
He alone is worthy of all glory and praise.

God has revealed himself to us through His son, Jesus Christ, who was both God and man. As such, Jesus was both ordinary and extraordinary: He was truly human in many ways, yet sinless. Because of this, only Jesus could live a sin-free life and willingly die on the cross in place of the sinner's life and death. God resurrected Jesus from the dead and we are now offered the free gift of eternal life. By grace, this gift is available to all who follow Christ as their Lord and Savior. Salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ. We cannot purchase or earn salvation through works or ceremony. We gain access to salvation by believing.

Scripture

Humankind

We believe God has revealed himself to all humankind through the Bible, the inspired, infallible revelation of God's character and will. Scripture (God's Word) is historically and philosophically sound. We believe it is practical, relevant, ethical, and designed for everyday practice. Everyone can implement the Bible's teachings into their lives through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Humans, both male and female, exist because of God's great love. We were created in God's image for His glory. We are to love God, love others, be loved, and to care for the rest of God's creation.
The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin, yet fell when they chose not to obey God. Adam and Eve became distorted images of God and ceased to be what they were created to be. All creation became fractured. Humanity fell and became self-centered. However, all is not lost. Spiritual rebirth offers us restoration through Jesus Christ.

The Church

Advent

We were meant for community (Gen 2:18). The Church is the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and to proclaim the gospel of Jesus. As a community, the church exists as the hands and feet of God in service to others, to enrich our own lives as well as everyone around us.

Jesus said He would come again (John 14:3) and we believe that He is true to His Word. We look forward to His return and know that He longs to take us to a place where we can be with him forever.
